Dragon’s Lair Comics & Fantasy is proud to be a participant in the 8th annual Free Comic Book Day! Saturday May 2, 2009, Dragon’s Lair will be joining hundreds of other comic stores across the nation in handing out FREE comic books to our customers! 

Free comic book day is a celebration of comics and comic readers and is a great opportunity for new readers to learn about and get involved in the dynamic and powerful stories found in comic books! Held once a year, comic stores across the nation give out free comics to their customers and host author and creator signings! 

Dragon’s Lair Austin has invited several local artists and writers to sign copies of their works and chat with our customers and will have all kinds of festivities and even a contest or two! 

Trivia Contest Forms will be available at each regiser and on the FCBD tables! Just turn your completed sheets in to any employee. Trivia Contest Entries will be reviewed at 11:30 AM, 1:00 PM, 2:30 PM and 4:00 PM. Any entry that scores 80% or above will earn 10% off one item!

Matt Frank, author of Ray Harryhausen’s Wrath of the Titans: Cyclops and of G Fan #87 will be signing from 10AM - 2:30 PM. 

Bill Williams, author of Justice League Unlimited: Heroes will be signing from 11AM - 1PM. 

Dragon’s Lair Austin’s own Matt Richardson, artist extraordinaire, will provide some awesome super hero drawings for the kids to color and may even take commissions from fans! 

We’ve ordered more free comics than ever! Comics are limited to one of each title per customer (no exceptions!) are will be handed out on a first-come, first-served basis, so come early! 

This year’s Free Comic Book Day promises to be one to remember!
