The holidays are upon us once more, and with them come some new and fantastic deals from our friends at Games Workshop. The masterminds behind Warhammer 40K and Age of Sigmar have rolled out a suite of spectacular deals on army boxes for the holiday season, all of which make incredible gifts for the wargamer in your life.
Age of Sigmar
On the Age of Sigmar side of things, GW has four massive Battleforce boxes hitting stores soon. Each of these boxes will sell for $170 plus tax, and though that seems like a sizeable investment, the savings you get in each box are incredible. Don’t believe me? Let’s look closer.
The Seraphon, an ancient race of magical lizard-folk, are coming in force with the Starclaw Strikehost. We traveled to the dungeons beneath Dragon’s Lair to ask our team of dwarven mathematicians what kind of savings we could expect on this box, and they returned with the following notes:
- One squad of diminutive but spirited Skinks – $35
- One terrifying Troglodon – $85
- One armored Bastiladon – $60
- Two squads of shrieking Terradon Riders – $120
- And a gifted Skink Starpriest to lead them – $20
All together that comes to a total retail value of $320. At only $170 retail, that’s a savings of $150, all in one box! And the other Battleforces are no different. The other Age of Sigmar Battleforces all contain savings of $80 or more, with the deadly Daughters of Khaine Devoted of Morathi saving you a remarkable $105!
Warhammer 40K
When it comes to Warhammer 40K, GW has done even better. There are a whopping SIX Battleforce boxes for the factions of the grim future, and all of them are similar cash-saving deals. Of note are the two Primaris Space Marine Battleforces: the Ultramarines Interdiction Force contains an incredible savings of $125 (!) compared to its individual components, while the Imperial Fists Supremacy Force contains three of a never-before-seen Imperial Fists Upgrade Pack, for any players looking to marshal a force of those noble defenders of Terra (as well as an estimated savings of $115 as well).
All told, Games Workshop is knocking it out of the park with this year’s Battleforce boxes. Some incredible deals and diverse choices should suit the tastes of any discerning general and make a spectacular holiday gift for you or your loved ones.
