Magic: the Gathering Dark Ascension Pre-release

Next Saturday, October 29th, Dragon’s Lair Bellevue will be holding a Halloween Party and Special Innistrad Tournament! Given it’s horror themes, we think Innistrad is the perfect set for Halloween. Players will be asked to make a 60 card deck before the day of the event. The catch? Your deck must be themed after one of the major Innistrad factions. Werewolves, Vampires, Spirits, Zombies or Inquisitors/Monster Hunters. Each deck can only include creature cards specific to the faction chosen. However, normal humans can be placed in Inquisitor/Monster Hunter decks, Spirit decks, and Zombie decks. Angels can be used in Inquisitor/Monster Hunter decks. You may use cards from other standard-legal sets besides Innistrad as long as the creatures are of the chosen faction. On the 29th we’ll be pitting factions against each other. Winning players will get to pick from a prize pool of booster packs, and those who played the same faction as our top winners will get a voucher to play in any upcoming Dragon’s Lair MTG Booster draft FREE of charge! The event will start at 2pm and will be $5 to play.

Coming soon we will have a pre-release of the new Magic the Gathering set Innistrad. On Saturday September 24th at 2pm we will be having a pre-release event, sealed constructed format, $25 entry fee. Then, one week later on Saturday October 1st at 2pm we will be having a sealed constructed format launch event. You may pre-register for these events any time the week of the event. We have had a completely full house in the past, so pre-registration is recommended.

Among the prize pool for each of these events will be one From the Vault: Legends set, plus additional prizes to be determined later.

Starting in September, Dragon’s Lair Comics & Fantasy in Bellevue will have new store hours. These hours will not affect any of the upcoming or ongoing events we have planned for the store. The new hours will be:

M-F Noon-10pm
Sat 11am-9pm
Sun 11am-5pm

Dragon’s Lair Comic & Fantasy of Bellevue will soon have two major release events for Magic: the Gathering 2012.  The pre-release event will be held on Saturday, July 9th at 2pm, and the release event will be held Saturday, July 16th at 2pm.  These are both sealed events, so the buy-in is $25 and that gets you at least 6 packs + any prizes you may receive.  As a special grand prize for the pre-release event we will have a full box of Worldwake boosters.  We will be accepting pre-registration for these events starting the Sunday before the event.

Dragon’s Lair Bellevue is also trying out a new method to keep in contact with our customers via text messages. Simply text “alltxt dragon” to 368674 to opt in to receive periodic (probably 1-2 times/week) updates on events and specials.
