Focus on the Family

November 8, 2020

Every day we should celebrate our families, no matter the shape, size or blood relation! However, life happens and sometimes it’s hard to stop for a minute and truly appreciate the wonderful people we have in our lives. We wanted to focus on some family oriented comics this week, and think you’ll enjoy reading about these dynamic broods!

Locke & Key: This story centers around the Locke family siblings Tyler, Kinsey and Bode, as they discover the lost secrets of their ancestral family home, Keyhouse. A fantastic mystery that has even been adapted to a TV series on Netflix!

Vision: Driven by his greatest desire, Vision created an android family like himself in order to achieve his dream of humanity. You’ll follow the pits and peaks of their quest for normalcy, and see what this means for Vision and his relationship with the Avengers.

Power Pack: A superhero team of young brothers and sisters uses the powers they acquired from an alien race to defend the planet! This is Marvel’s original kid hero team, and the family is fighting together again for the first time in ages! Power Pack #1 releases this Wednesday, so be sure to check out this dynamic family!

Underwater Welder: An offshore oil rig worker confronts his apprehensions and self doubt about becoming a father, and encounters the ghost of his own on a dive. This story is a beautiful, poignant and raw look at relationships between fathers and sons, and well worth the read.

Saga: Honestly, how could we not mention this epic space opera? It is a sprawling tale of young romance and subsequent maturation into parenthood. Marko and Alana travel across the galaxy with their daughter Hazel as they work to raise her and keep her safe while fleeing through space.

Of course this is just the tip of the iceberg. You probably already know that Superman and Supergirl are cousins, and Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch are siblings! There are many more connections like this lurking on our shelves. Check out all these comics and more at Dragon’s Lair – we’re still open daily as well as providing curbside pick-up for orders, and we can’t wait to see you this holiday season!
