Get A Move On!

Rev your engines and unfurl your sails! Take a ride with us this week as we explore some games with locomotion themes. Whether you’re hopping on a train, surviving a crash, or racing to the finish line, they’re sure to give you some much needed entertainment.

Tsuro of the Seas: In this nautical themed game, each player tries to keep their ship afloat and sailing for as long as possible, with the last ship standing declared the winner. It’s a stunning game visually, with an absolutely beautiful board and lovely card art – plus, you get little miniature ship tokens!

Ticket to Ride Rails and Sails: One of the best editions of the extremely popular Ticket to Ride game line, this version allows you to map routes on both land and sea! The double sided board allows you to play on either a world map or the great lakes of North America. Players begin the game with a ticket with two cities, and then collect colored cards to claim routes on the game board with colored train and ship tokens. Establishing routes scores you points, and the player with the most points at the end wins!

Ravine: This one is fast, fun, and great for players as young as 7! It is a cooperative card game where you have to employ strategy to survive after your plane crashes. You’ll forage for food and supplies during the day, and pool your resources to see if it’s enough for your group to survive the night ahead!

Formula D: If you’re a fan of Formula 1 (or really any kind of car racing) then this is the game for you. Like any race, the first one over the finish line wins! Roll custom dice during your turns to determine how you shift your gears as you move through the pack. You can even customize your car instead of using the pre-generated models.

Colt Express: Set at the dawn of the 20th century, and at the height of the western era. In this game you’ll play a bandit robbing a train and trying to outwit the other outlaws (players) aboard! The best part about this game is the 3D train you get to interact with – and it grows longer with more players!

So hit the road (or tracks…or waves) and enjoy yourself! We’ve always got more suggestions to offer in store! Feel free to call ahead or just come on by to check out our selection and get some additional recommendations.
