So you’re scrambling this week because you still have a bit of shopping to complete, and really, who can blame you? It’s been a crazy year and everyone is a bit scattered at the moment. Luckily, you can take care of everyone on your list with one stop (or curbside pickup) at the Lair! Here are few ideas for you to work from so you can grab the perfect thing.
For the Family: Need a gift that you can all enjoy while spending time together? It doesn’t get much better than playing a new game with one another! Our tried and true favorites include Ticket to Ride, Forbidden Island, Pandemic, 7 Wonders, Villainous (there are Marvel and Disney versions), ClipCut Parks, and anything from the Tiny Epic Game Line!
For the Introvert: Trying to think of something for a special someone who has an appreciation for time spent alone? Pick up a graphic novel, manga, or comic that they can bury themselves into with a cup of cocoa and a warm blanket. A few series we’d recommend that have a good amount of content to digest include Sandman, Y the Last Man, Star Wars Darth Vader, Locke & Key, and Deathnote.
For the Extrovert: Party games and competitive card games (CCGs) are perfect for people who are outgoing and love to play with large groups or even strangers at events like Friday Night Magic. Younger kids and pre-teens will enjoy Pokemon while older folks might prefer CCGs such as Magic the Gathering or Cardfight! Vanguard instead. Some of our favorite party games include Apples to Apples, Secret Hitler, Ultimate Werewolf, and Cards Against Humanity.
For the Couple: We’re all spending more time at home, and for the couples out there this can be a double edged sword. Shake things up for them by giving the gift of a great two player game! Check out the Fox in the Forest, Codenames Duet, Hive, Boss Monster and Sushi Go!
For the Kids: Looking for a game that both you and your (much) younger crowd can enjoy? Pick up First Orchard, 5 Crowns Junior Edition or Qwirkle! We’ve got a whole kid’s section of comics to choose from as well, featuring many favorites such as Sonic the Hedgehog and Skylanders.
